We’ll start by capturing the spectacular Milky Way in Joshua Tree. Moving on to Death Valley, renowned for its rugged terrain and the golden glow that falls upon the mountains. Finally, visiting the splendid Yosemite. A wonderland of granite formations, where you will marvel at the sight of countless cascading waterfalls. Each dropping into a stunning glacier-carved valley.

Tour Outline

Please find below a rough schedule outlining the intended tour schedule. However, keep in mind that this may change due to unexpected situations or bad weather.

Day 1

• Upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport, you’ll be transported to our accommodation for the evening.

• Here you’ll have the opportunity to meet your guide and group for the next 11 days.

• You’ll be briefed through your exploration of California and activities during the tour.

• The remaining hours of the evening are yours to spend as you wish.
Day 2

• After an early rise and a delicious breakfast at an American Diner, we’ll embark on the road towards Coachella Valley.

• Utilising this opportunity to snap the stunning wind farms along the way.

• Finally, we arrive in Palm Springs, just in time for lunch at our exquisite hotel.

• Here we will be stationed for the next few days of photo shoots.

• In the afternoon, we will conduct an exposure training, providing insights into the settings of your camera.

• Followed by a tour of the region's renowned art deco architecture.

• There will be ample time to unwind in the evening to reset for the next day.
Day 3

• We begin day three with a brief class about landscapes. Getting acquainted with different techniques, to help you master landscape photography.

• This will enable you to make the most of your first photo shoot in the afternoon at Joshua Tree.

• During this shoot, you will gain the knowledge to locate, approach, and capture various landscapes with maximum impact.

• Learning how to navigate a shot under rapidly changing light conditions.

• Later, our group will have plenty of relaxation time. Here you will receive both individual and group feedback on the pictures you took.
Day 4

• On the following day, we'll devote our time to exploring industry composition techniques.

• Afterwards, we will take a trip to Pioneer Town, a deserted town with a variety of unique buildings. Including a saloon, church, active post office, and a handful of fascinating residents.

• This will be an opportunity to go back in time and snap photos of the legendary Wild West.
Day 5

• An early rise as we journey to Death Valley, arriving at Furnace Creek just before lunchtime.

• The afternoon segment of our tour will be devoted to educating you on the nuances of illumination.

• You’ll be equipped with the knowledge to capture the perfect shot during the sunset.

• Following that, you tutor will conduct a live demonstration to reveal some trade secrets. These will push your photography skills to the next level!

• We will then capture a series of twilight images on the valley floor and progress towards low-light settings. Capturing long exposure shots in areas with little to no light pollution
Day 6

• Day six will be entirely dedicated to capturing stunning photographs in the majestic Death Valley.

• We will commence our excursion by going on a brief trip towards the salt flats located at the Badwater Basin.

• Later, we will bask in the beauty of the afternoon light that highlights the Ubehebe Crater. Found within the dark volcanic sands of the northern section of the valley.

• Finally, we will conclude our photographic journey at the mesmerising Mesquite Sand Dunes.

• We will pay tribute to legendary photographers like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston
Day 7

• Early in the morning, we set off towards the eastern edge of Yosemite. Making a pit stop at the eastern foothills of the renowned national park.

• A day filled with top-notch photography opportunities awaits us as we travel to our next location!
Day 8

• The following day, we advance our expertise as we venture through the park's east gate. During this time, your guide will impart invaluable knowledge on the art of ‘seeing’ in Black and White.

• Grasping the nuances of tone and the Zone system. As well as the ability to effectively utilise in-camera filters to achieve striking effects in your images.

• We’ll then pay a visit to the valley floor. Here we’ll explore every noteworthy site that has been immortalised by the famous Ansel Adams.

• Come afternoon, we’ll experiment with some of the methods he used to capture his exceptional photographs.

• Your guided will assess the most exceptional shots of the day on a large display. Using the stunning scenery of the sun setting over Yosemite National Park serving as the backdrop.

• You will also have the chance to participate in 1-on-1 sessions.

• Ending the day with a delicious meal at a local restaurant.
Day 9 & 10

• In the following two days, we will embark on a tour of several stunning destinations. Starting at the break of dawn following through to daylight, ending under dusky conditions.

• While at each spot, you’ll receive personalised instructions. Capturing Horsetail Falls accentuated by golden, sunset light, and spectacular panoramic views of Half Dome taken from Glacier Point.

• We’ll then proceed down south to Mariposa Grove to take pictures of the age-old Giant Sequoias.

• We will also spend ample time at Tunnel View, waiting for optimum lighting on El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall. Immersing ourselves in a full two-day adventure that showcases the finest locations the Park has to offer.

• On our final night, we can relish in our photographic journey through California and how far we have come.
Day 11

• On our last morning, you’ll have the opportunity to receive last-minute one-on-one critique from your professional mentors. Offering advice on your progression, and suggestions on what steps to take next in your photography.

• Regretfully, before lunch, we must say goodbye before boarding the plane back home.
